Steps to reproduce:
Create a new email, Insert Table, enter random text in table fields, send email.
Actual results:
The received email doesn't contain the table, but the table field text is displayed.
Expected results:
Table should be displayed with text and formatting included.
Running: Thunderbird 45.1.0 on FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE. xfce4.12.0

I was able to reproduce the bug. Windows 8 Thunderbird 45.1 .
Created a new mail. Inserted a table. Sent email.
The received mail doesn't contain the table but the text in table cells are displayed.

If you have the delivery format set to Auto, HTML or "Both" (plain text and HTML), then the table will be correctly sent.
If of course you force the delivery format to plain text, as seems to have happened in attachment 8754482 [details], the the table is lost.
