User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/47.0.2526.80 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
pressed the "9" key to select the keyboard shortcut associated with the tag desired for a message.
Actual results:
nothing.
Expected results:
the message should've been tagged according to the tag defined.
In fact, when going to Message -> Tag, I no longer see the list I had to choose from. But, when choosing manage tags, I see my original list, but no keyboard shortcuts to choose from among them.

Who knows something about tags?
Flags: needinfo?(vseerror)
Flags: needinfo?(acelists)
Works on Linux.
You say Message->Tags menu is empty? Is there anything in Tools->Error console after viewing the empty menu?

my view layout is classic view with folder pane and message pane also checked. Something interesting I note, is that if I double-click on the message in order to view the whole message in its own window, the tags do show up in that case, just not in my preferred view.

regarding comment 2, I cleared the error console, clicked to view the tags, and the only errors showing up are wrt exchangecalendar: line 178, 'Out' argument must be an object arg.

yes, pretty weird. Not the first time someone has mentioned reinstalling an addon (or disable+enable, or just touching safe mode) has helped. Seems to be the new normal.
