Reporter, can you still reproduce this problem using a current build? (Matthias, Reporter provided the Build ID in Comment #1.)

Asked if I still observe this problem. I have downloaded Build 2002041711 and it still locks up on the login page. It's an Oracle Application Server Login for Version 8. I have to force quick Mozilla to get any response from the application. I locks with the attachment image as the last successful action. :(
Can you give us descriptions or snapshots of the two dialogs?

another 4 month.. Reporter: did we fix this without knowing? could you re-try with a recent Mozilla version?

sellers@oakland.edu, what will also be helpful is the URL of any publicly-accessible Oracle Web Server that also exhibits the problem. Otherwise, it's tough to repproduce this. Also, you might try to capture some data on what Mozilla is doing during the hang by using the Sampler application included with the OS X Developer Tools.
(Adding qawanted pending such additional information.)

-> HTTP. I looked at the snapshot you provided. I haven't done much w/ HTTP auth in a while, so could someone confirm that that is the right look for Mac OS X? If not, this could be some javascript or plugin based auth dialog box...

I tried again with 08132002 build, and it still freezes. I actually get past the first login to the OAS (oracle application server) login screen, but after logging in, there is a second area that I think is a java based login process, so it may not be using http auth. I'll try to show a login with a different OS and browser. I'm not sure if I can get you access to an OAS server unfortunatly, I'll see what I can do. Thanks
sellers@oakland.edu, can you reproduce this problem using another Mozilla user profile?
I am able to reproduce it on multiple computers, and with Chimmera and Netscape. I have a feeling it's related to Java, becuase that is a highly Java intensive site management program. I will try to setup a OAS server on a computer giving your team access to it for a limited time.
sellers@oakland.edu, as I mentioned in comment 8, you should use the Sampler application included in the OS X Developer Tools to collect data on what Mozilla's doing during this hang.
OK, using BUILD 2002100603 I was able to get it to work. I tried the sampler and collected information but let me share what I found. It asked me for the login via the JAVA looking login window (I think included in earlier report snapshot) over and over and over again for every resource. Most browsers (NS4/IE/etc) ask for the login once, and then must cache it or pass it through to each requested resource. Mozilla is asking for it each time (over 20 times I'm guessing depending on how your Oracle Application Server 4.x is setup). I'm not sure if this changes the impact of the bug - but I will continue to try to see if I can narrow down the problem by trying different platforms aside of MacOS X as well as multiple Macs.
this probably depends on bug 60304, or at least that bug explains why you see separate java auth dialogs. since moz isn't hanging anymore, this bug might even be a duplicate of bug 60304.
