By now we don't have any service worker API to wake them up locally. So my suggestion would be to implement alarms with a setTimeout for basic usage. To provide a better UX I'd then create an add-on which would support an alarm API[1], like Ben suggested it once. In the clock api we could check if the add-on is available and if that's the case we register the alarm in the add-on. How ready are add-ons in Pine? can we use them?
