Steps to reproduce:
I am running Thunderbird 45.1.0, under Windows 10.
I regularly receive formatted emails representing orders placed on a website.
I typically simply hit Cntrl P to obtain a printout, which can be one or two pages.
Actual results:
Since the latest upgrade, neither Cntrl P or Print/Print Preview work correctly.
There is an unnecessary page throw at the start of these prints and information that should appear on the third page are missing.
Expected results:
Using Cntrl P or Thunderbird Menu-Print-Print Preview or Print should produce a one or two page printout, with all data shown.
PS Does the "Attach a File" (below) work correctly? Didn't look as though it really attached the file. Let's hope so.

Which version are you on exactly? TB 45.0 had printing problems, TB 45.1.1 should be fine.

Jorg K asks: "Which version are you on exactly? TB 45.0 had printing problems, TB 45.1.1
should be fine."
My response: Yesterday, I was on 45.1.0 and was showing up-to-date. While writing this, an update to 45.1.1 came through - and I have completed this update.
Retest shows same result. Unnecessary page throw at the start of the prints and information that should appear on the third page is still missing. I can live with the page throw - but cannot work with missing data.

We had other reports on printing problems on Windows 10: Bug 1266113.
Can you print from Firefox? Thunderbird and Firefox use the same underlying technology to print. If confirmed (and not some HP driver problem), this is most likely a Mozilla core bug.

Bad news, Jorg. I don't run Firefox, only Thunderbird for email.
My printer is a Canon MG 2960, operating via my wifi.
I have checked printer driver status at the Canon website. No updates since July 2015. I have searched my PC and have the latest version for Windows 10 - being 1.1.
BTW Where are you? I'm in Melbourne, Australia.

Bad news, you will have to install Firefox and try printing.
I am in Berlin, Germany. I lived in Melbourne from 1991-2007.

Bad news, indeed. I have downloaded and installed Firefox, restarted Thunderbird and Firefox. Unfortunately, same result.
Please treat this as a minor problem, as I can select and paste into Word for printing. However, I reckon the clue is in the recent update. eg Why the new page throw?
I hope you enjoyed your time in Melbourne. I was working in IT during that period, mainly as project manager with Oakton. Your visit explains your excellent English, mate.

Can you explain further:
FF and TB both don't print: That would be good news since we move the bug to Mozilla core.
FF prints, TB does not: That would be indeed bad news.
As for Australia: 16-year visit? Gotta be kidding, mate, I have citizenship.

I have tested Firefox on a couple of websites. Printing appears to be OK - certainly no sign of the redundant page throw.
I don't know how I can test printing of the specific email in FF. Can I do this?
As for Oz, I'm glad you're one of us.

You can edit the .eml file and delete the e-mail header (first 75 lines) so only the HTML body including
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html dir="ltr">
...
</body>
</html>
remains. The resulting document needs to be stored as .html.
That you should try printing in Firefox.
Also, you can try printing the e-mail from TB to a virtual PDF printer. I use FreePDF, but there is other software which can do it, including Foxit PDF Reader, doPDF, etc.

phil-sue-roberts are you still seeing this problem?
And if so...
- please reply to comment 9 above
- are you using scaling?
- if you are game, try the beta version at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/

Wayne,
I have not tried the Jorg's (rather complicated)diagnostics.
Now on V 45.5.0 of TB. Problem still the same, but have learnt to live with the problem.
Cannot rule out the possibility that something changed in the website software which upsets the printing.
Therefore I suggest you close this bug, rather than carrying it forward.
Thanks for your efforts. Regards

I wasn't able to reproduce in win7 with 45.4.0.
But I'd rather not close because it's still known to cause you a problem. And easy to make the html testcase per jorgk, which I provide for you to try in firefox. In firefox nightly it printed in one page, where in thunderbird it printed in 3
You might try the beta from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/
