My TB upgraded itself a few days ago to 45. When it happened, the Send button / Send command in the menu just stopped responding. I tried to change language version of the TB, to no effect. After I downloaded a 44 TB beta version from your ftp, all works once more. I did no changes to the settings. The same setting are used on iPhone etc. Before, it did not update itself since TB 38
Today, TB went automatically to 45.2 (even though it is supposed to ask whether it is to update itself). I am having the same problem.
Operation system: Apple Yosemite (did not try to replicate on other macs, which run El Capitan).
TB version: 45.1, 45.2, Polish, English.

PS2: The same problem with thunderbird-46.0a2.en-US.mac. After going back to
44.0b1, all works. First automatic installation of 45.1 displayed an information about using "beta" version and did lots of mess-up, even though I used the "release" channel, not "beta" channel. May be going back to an earlier non-beta version and restoring the "release" channel would solve the problem (for me).

You're suffering from an incompatible add-on:
Please try in safe-mode (with add-ons turned off). Most likely your using an incompatible add-on like Conversations, MoreFunctionsforAddressBook, Mnenhy, Quicktext, QuoteAndComposeManager, Profile password.

I followed the recommendation on restart in safe mode, but it made no difference. I cannot see a send button either. This issue shows only on my Windows 8. My vista system works fine.

How can I trigger the send button?

There is something wrong with your installation.
Please try with a new profile, see comment #6.
<ctrl><enter> will trigger sending the e-mail.

I disabled the adds-on, rebooted. Then, emails did not go out, but I edited and send again. This time they went out. I remember in the past TB noticed that some emails were in the draft, and send them automatically. This time I had to edit every single one and send successfully. I believe some of the adds-on where the cause of this issue some how. Thanks for your help. Problem solved.
