Steps to reproduce:

I have loaded the websites http://www.hgtv.com/design/hgtv-smart-home/sweepstakes and netflix.com and have been unable to interact with any elements on the screen.  On the HGTV website, I was unable to click on the button to enter the contest, then it wasn't there anymore when I loaded the page, while the contest was still going on.  Netflix I was able to login and get to my profile, but could then not interact with anything on the page.


Actual results:

Unable to select objects or follow links.


Expected results:

I should have been able to follow links or select a series to view.

NOT reproducible  with  English SeaMonkey 2.45a1  (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:48.0)  Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0 Build 20160308001946  (Default Classic Theme)  on German WIN7 64bit:

1. Click hyperlink in report
   » Web page opens
2. Click blue background "HGTV" icon in top left area: works fine
3. On Newly reached page click light blue background button "Live TV"
   » View changes to Live TV Player page

I haven't a clue how to find "the contest button"

"I cannot ..." seems to indicate a problem with you and not a problem with SeaMonkey?  ;-)

Please:
a) Contribute a problem related step by step instruction containing every 
   key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem due to 
   <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines>
   (similar to report in Bug 1139273)
b) Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the 
   problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
   into a OOo or LibreOffice DRAW document and to add comments 
   that explain what you want to show (attach .png or PDF from source document)
c) add information 
c1) concerning your Operating System (Language)
c2) concerning your SM localization (UI language, Locale setting)
c3) SM settings that might be related to your problems 
    May be you should attach a copy of menu 
   'Help → Trouble shooting information”
c4) how you launch SM (Double click on document? console? …)
c5) Whether problem persists in safe mode without add-ons (in Help Menu)
c6) Whether problem persists with blank new profile
c7) everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts
c8) Whether problem persists after reboot of PC with newly created SeaMonkey

The contest that was involved is no longer available.  Step-by step actions:
1) Navigated to website.
2) Clicked on "Sweepstakes"
3) Clicked on "2016 Dream Home" contest link
4) Page to enter sweepstakes loaded.  Clicked on "Enter Sweepstakes" button.  Nothing happened.
5) Help -> Restart with Add-ons Disabled
6) Reloaded page.
7) Clicked on button "Enter Sweepstakes".  No reaction from website.

Netflix error:
1) Navigated to website.
2) Clicked "Sign In."
3) Entered login information.
4) Clicked on "Sign In."
5) Selected profile.
6) Waited for page to load.  Hovered over bell icon for messages.  No reaction from website.
7) Clicked on bell.  No reaction from website.
8) Clicked on series showing in list.  No reaction from website.

Experimental Features

Problem did persist after relauch in safe mode.
Problem did occur with blank profile
Problem did persist with reboot of PC.

Problem has not occurred since.  Windows Update run, no update required.

Really strange, I don't see a chancefor an approache to the problem as long as it's notreproducible for anyone else but you.

Has never been confirmed for years.

@Reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you still can reproduce the problem with a current SeaMonkey version and a current OS and if you can contribute a step by step instruction how other users can reproduce the problem reliably.
