User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 Build ID: 20160604131506 Steps to reproduce: Start Firefox Developer, 48.0a2 or other recent versions. After any amount of activity, open the Browser Console. Actual results: Even with more logged messages than fit into the window, there is no vertical scrollbar to easily navigate up and down through the messages. For example, to scroll quickly to the top. Expected results: A vertical scrollbar should be provided when there are more messages than will fit into the window. The equivalent public releases all provide a scrollbar. This does not seem to be a release-specific problem. Instead, the problem is always in the Developer Edition, but never in the same public release.

After receiving your request for more info, I experimented and better pinned down the actual cause of the problem. There is a problem with a missing vertical scrollbar under some circumstances, but it turns out that it is not specific to the Developer Edition. (Note - I tried Safe Mode and it did not eliminate the problem.) There is a string preference - devtools.theme - that can be set in about:config. It can also be set via radio buttons in the options menu from the Web Console. However, this setting affects the Browser Console as well. The allowable options seem to be "dark" and "light" in the 47.0 release, and there is a third option, "firebug", available in 48.0a2 Developer. If the setting is "light" or "firebug", the scrollbar appears appropriately when the height of the window is dragged too small to show all current messages. However, if the devtools.theme is set to "dark", a vertical scrollbar never appears in either 47.0 or 48.0a2. I had originally thought it was a Developer Edition problem, because I had the theme set to "dark" in Developer, and "light" in the public release. Therefore, to reiterate, the vertical scrollbar seems always to be missing, in any recent version, if devtools.theme is set to "dark".

Please create a new profile, you have the steps here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Managing-profiles#w_starting-the-profile-manager Attached you can find printscreen with my testing result(devtools.theme was set to "dark")
After looking at your screenprint, I can see a faint hint of a scrollbar, that is not at all, in appearance, like the scrollbars in the lighter themes. I've again set my own theme to dark temporarily, and now that I know what to look far, I can see a faint, thin scrollbar, that is in fact functional. But on my screen, the dark color of the thin scrollbar is hardly different from the background color. I don't think that this is a good design style for a toolbar, but that's not really very important now. I've set my own theme to one of the lighter options, and everything works as expected. This bug can be closed. I'm marking it RESOLVED. Thanks for your time and communications.
