2/19 15 trunk build (but this has been around forever) Not sure if I've filed this before, but it's still happening. If you drag an unread message out of any folder into the Inbox, it simply returns to the folder it came from. I don't have this problem with messages that have been read. It happens the same whether it's never been read or whether it's just been marked unread. Is the server making the return for some reason?

So, this still happens. I haven't tested the negative case, but I believe this is happening because the way we move unread messages somehow invokes the filter rules again. If I've physically moved the message (via DND or the menus) it should just stay put and not invoke the filter rules again.

are you closing every bug you haven't personally witnessed? Maybe that wasn't what you meant ...
consider: - reporter is gone, so there's no opportunity to verify his/her status - no dupes or comments from anyone else in 6 years - it shares mail backend with thunderbird, and I've not seen any such bug reports for this in thunderbird. - and I've also never seen this in SM mail, which I ran steadily until roughly 2006, and sporadic since then. at best it's prime candidate for incomplete. but yes, I definitely mean WFM.
