Some Amazon users are reporting AV sync issues with Widevine content. Mairo says he has managed to reproduce it by having a pretty heavy CPU load, while playing 1080p content. I can reproduce AV sync problems when watching the scene at time 31:00 in THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE when building Firefox (mach build -j 16): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RSGIVVO/ Under heavy load, Chrome pauses both the audio and video. In Firefox, the video starts stuttering but continues playing the audio. The audio and video appear a couple hundred milliseconds out of sync. When I kill the load, the audio and video eventually synchronize after about 5–10 seconds.

I can reproduce this in Firefox 47 and Nightly 50 on OS X.

I tested this ($0) YouTube Widevine video under heavy load, but it had no AV sync issues. Perhaps this is an encoding issue? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6E7CGm12tA
