as this isn't a release specific item, I won't have this bug block anything. In fact, this change to the driver resolved a lot of very noisy tests! With that comes some wins and loses, I will work on aggregating these into a list.

hmm, in addition there was bug 1197954 which landed on June 8th, I suspect this might be related to some alerts I see, overall- I will try to separate the changes- possibly there are no changes with the driver.

it looks like we have 2 real test changes: https://treeherder.mozilla.org/perf.html#/alerts?id=1486 40% win on glterrain 20% loss on tp5o_scroll as this is infrastructure, I don't think there is really anything to do here. :acomminos, just checking with you in case you feel there is future work here. If there is none, lets close this issue.

Interesting. Assuming the nvidia hardware is better than whatever we had before, it's understandable why glterrain would improve, but I wouldn't have expected scroll tests to regress, though it's still possible. Anyway, yeah, sounds like we should take it as the new baseline.

Don't think so; I'm surprised as well that tp5o_scroll regressed, though. The only thing I can think of is that the newer nvidia DDX has a changed MIT-SHM implementation. Thanks!
