Several browsers now support a common video playback behavior where a user wants to watch an embedded video while continuing with other tasks, offering a "picture in picture" mode in addition to full-screen mode. In this mode, the video playback appears in a small always-on-top overlay on their desktop. This can be re-positioned to the various corners of their display. This is a nice multitasking-friendly alternative to full-screen playback.

* Opera: http://www.opera.com/blogs/desktop/2016/04/opera-beta-update-video-pop/ * The upcoming macOS Sierra's Safari has support for PiP: http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/17/how-to-enable-picture-in-picture-for-youtube-videos-in-macos-sierra/ I expect that Chrome/YouTube will me-too the feature as well if it proves popular.
Jean-Yves - can you take a look to see if you think we should do this?

We have a way now to play a video in a minimized floating window.. not sure if that qualifies as a solution...
