This bug was filed from the Socorro interface and is report bp-b176b5f7-4d14-4977-823b-7b9812160618. ============================================================= This crash first showed up in Nightly 20160502030207, though it has become a bit more frequent since June 12. It has occurred 24 times overall: > 0 @0x0 > Ø 1 nvumdshim.dll nvumdshim.dll@0x1af30 > 2 d3d11.dll d3d11.dll@0x2cec1 > 3 d3d11.dll NOutermost::CDevice::CreateLayeredChild(unsigned int, void const*, unsigned long, ID3D11LayeredUseCounted*, _GUID const&, void**) > 4 d3d11.dll CDevice::CreateVideoProcessorEnumerator(D3D11_VIDEO_PROCESSOR_CONTENT_DESC const*, ID3D11VideoProcessorEnumerator**) > 5 msvproc.dll CxCodeVideoProcMFTTypeHandler::CheckMediaTypeD3D11(IMFMediaType*, IMFMediaType*) > 6 msvproc.dll CxCodeVideoProcMFTTypeHandler::UpdateAvailableInputTypesD3D11() > 7 msvproc.dll CxCodeVideoProcMFTTypeHandler::CheckD3D11VideoDevice() > 8 msvproc.dll CxCodeVideoProcMFTTypeHandler::OnSetDXGIManager(IMFDXGIDeviceManager*) > 9 msvproc.dll CxCodeVideoProcMFTDataHandler::OnSetDXGIManager(IMFDXGIDeviceManager*) > 10 msvproc.dll CMFTSimpleDataHandler::ProcessMessage(_MFT_MESSAGE_TYPE, unsigned long) > 11 msvproc.dll CMFTBase::ProcessMessage(_MFT_MESSAGE_TYPE, unsigned long) > 12 xul.dll mozilla::MFTDecoder::SendMFTMessage(_MFT_MESSAGE_TYPE, unsigned long) dom/media/platforms/wmf/MFTDecoder.cpp:116 > 13 xul.dll mozilla::D3D11DXVA2Manager::Init(nsACString_internal&) dom/media/platforms/wmf/DXVA2Manager.cpp:652 In every case we're trying to execute code at address 0x0. nvumdshim.dll is apparently an "NVIDIA Compatible D3D Shim Driver". The crashes mostly occur very shortly after start-up, but not always.
I don't know how video team decides which drivers to block for D3D11 DXVA.

Component: Audio/Video → Audio/Video: Playback
(In reply to Milan Sreckovic [:milan] from comment #1) > I don't know how video team decides which drivers to block for D3D11 DXVA. For D3D11 we just block anything that crashes and fall back to D3D9.
