STR: Open about:newtab or just open a new tab in Firefox.
2. Tab through the page.
Expected: Settings like "Include Most Visited Site", "Show empty page" etc. should be focusable.
Actual: Tab key jumps right over them.
4. Now start NVDA and listen to the elements under New Tab Settings.
Expected: They should be check boxes, radio buttons, or buttons, depending on what they actually are.
Actual: NVDA just calls them "clickable", but gives no indication of what they are, what their function is. For example I cannot tell if the Show Most Visited pages or Show Most Recent are checkboxes or radio buttons, whether they are checked or not, or if About New Tab is a button, what Show Empty Page is etc. Could be a button or checkbox.
This section definitely needs some proper elements, or if that is for some reason not feasible, ARIA and JS magic for semantics and keyboard interaction.
