Details

It would be sweet to have UX for creating pairings of sites and usernames such that when you log into a given site with a given username, it automatically puts that tab into a given contextual identity. This would help keep stuff sorted into the right identities when users forget to switch manually.

This is somewhat solved by the assignment feature in test pilot which might be brought to stable. Gijs also suggested doing this based on auth like this.

Assignment feature?
Ah, that's why I never saw this option. It's only available if you've already loaded the page in a container. There still isn't a way to move an already opened page into a container, which is a different issue from this one.
Bug 1344231 is what you are after for moving into a different container.

There is an extension someone in the community wrote: https://github.com/totallymike/contextPlus however I have not checked it. I know it can't move history or cookies to a container which is a reason why we are not rushing to implement that.
Moving to p3 because no activity for at least 1 year(s).
