Steps to reproduce:

When using Firefox for Android on a tablet, a lot of websites display desktop version when mobile version is preferable (e.g. smaller screen tablets). 
As I understand "Request desktop site" requests desktop version and there's no way to force loading mobile site. 
It would be nice if there will be mobile / desktop switch that will allow choosing what version to load.

Hello,
Can you please tell what tablet and OS are you using? I've been investigated this with Asus ZenPad 8 (Android 5.0.2). 
Also, it would be helpful to provide the URL on which you find the issue.

Hi,
I am using Google Nexus 9 and Android 6.0.1.

Examples:
- https://github.com loads desktop site in Firefox for Android.
- https://news.ycombinator.com/ loads desktop site, but IMO mobile site is preferable.

Tested again with Nexus 9 (Android 7.0) and there is no difference between Chrome and Firefox, and I verified with Request desktop site too. This is a site issue, not related to Firefox.
Do you have another pages? so I can verify?

Hi, I was able to test again on a Google Nexus 9 on Firefox versions the issue that you described here and the behavior on Chrome and Firefox is the same. I will close this bug as worksforme but if you find another pages to test it, please reopen. Thanks!
