User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0 Build ID: 20160502172042 Steps to reproduce: Windows Vista Thunderbird 45.1.1 Tested in Safe mode with same results. Sort Mode: Date, Descending, Unthreaded Select email with 4 attachments so it shows in Message Pane. Right click on one attachment and select 'Detach' select where and click on save. Get warning message say ok. Detaching was successful. Actual results: After detaching first attachment, Thunderbird immediately reselects the previous already read email. The next above in list which is a newer email due to sort. Thus needing to reselect the email I was reading in order to view next image and decide whether to detach or not. Expected results: It should have remained focused on the email I was reading and in the process of viewing/detaching certain attachments. Detaching an attachment should not mean loss of focus on that email.

Checking in 91.2.1 (and 78.14.0)

Email has four attachments - images 1.5MB x 2 and 1.3MB x 2 total size 5.6MB as shown in 'Size' column header.
Detach one image.
Image detached - no focus lost - so ok

Detached image now has blue font and is a link to detached file.
File size of detached image still says 1.5MB and the 'Size' of email still says '5.6MB'
You would have expected the size to be reduced.
Note: If you use the right click and 'Edit as new message' the 'detached' attachment is shown as a size of 243 bytes for the 'link' and Size' is also reduced correctly so why is this not being shown in the original ? Good question - maybe this is a new bug ?

Note: If image attachment 'Deleted' then there is a strikethrough and Size of email is reduced accordingly.

I would say this bug is no longer occuring, but the 'Size' issue presents a new bug. I'll create a new bug report if I cannot find one already created.

I think there has been a regression in the recent 115 version of TB ( I don't know exactly which one, I have 115.7.0 installed at the moment) :

when detaching an attachment (for example in an IMAP inbox), then after detaching, TB switches to the email above, which is highlighted and shown in the preview.
This did not happen with the versions before 115.
