You can find crash reports in the page about:crashes in Firefox location bar.
Something weird happened between yesterday and today: I was going to repeat the procedure in order to get the about:crashes info. Since I had cleaned out the previous WINEPREFIX, I started fresh again (so I could not use the old crash). All of a sudden the two top google hits for "skype for business web" do not prompt for an installation of the plugin! https://meet.lync.com/microsoft/sebros/7QRH5WR8 https://join.microsoft.com/meet/a-osorte/HP8SLJTD Even cooler is that I could sign in with native Linux Firefox (although with a warning that video, screen sharing and audio won't work... so I guess some things will have to improve). This sort of makes the whole bug moot and the need for Firefox under Wine less important... I just hope that whatever change was done between yesterday and today quickly "trickles down" to businesses, since this video conferencing platform has been a pain as a Linux user.
Apparently I spoke to early. One needs to set Windows version to >8.1 (I set 10) to get the prompt to install the plugin. Otherwise it only gives you a plugin-less login (which seems new) Also, a fresh install of Firefox 47 in 32-bit wine also solved the crash issue in installing the plugin (still don't know if the plugin actually works). So *something* changed but I am not entirely sure what
