Our first feature recommendation action will be per-site add-on recommendation. This action will, on certain matching domains, display an icon in the URL bar that, when clicked, opens a panel showing a list of recommended add-ons that work well with that website.

Early in-progress mockups of the UI can be seen in this slide deck: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Hg7dQFtoEn8v7aOReKN-f4MXgz7fYngIZ8UnWakGYeQ/edit?pli=1#slide=id.g145fa41cab_1_8

bcase will be working on implementation as his internship project.

Updates:

- Link to screenshots of an early prototype: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1SFy2lw0KcgZhIsQ-QoRuyhIXfWqRiR9HFE79YftrETE/edit?usp=sharing

- Attached is a more complete prototype bundled as a standalone add-on for the study. To check it out, install the add-on, then go to SoundCloud or Wikipedia, and click the puzzle piece icon on the right side of the URL bar to bring up the recommendation popup.

- We've decided to pursue running add-on recommendation as a SHIELD study. Currently we're finishing up development of the standalone study add-on, which will then be sent out to the company and, later, as a test study to measure its effectiveness. The study will have a static set of recommendations.

Well haven't we done a fine job of keeping this bug up to date? The repo for the study is https://github.com/mozilla/addon-recommendation-shield-study/ and we just launched the study yesterday. I'd call development of this study complete enough to resolve this bug. :D
