No hang here with 2002022808 on Win2k / JRE 1.4.0 But it is slow. (approx 30 seconds on a PIII-900 w/ 256MB RAM)
freeze on load here. Win-2k, Mozilla build 2002032003 JavaPlugin: JRE 1.3.1_02 Seems like some recent versions of the plugin/JRE don't like the fphover applet and presumably other applets written to 1.0/1.1 API's.

This is reproducible for me on linux (debian) on ppc, with build 2002032923, also w/9.9). I'm using Blackdown-1.3.1-02a-FCS jdk.
This seems to be a special case of #141825. There it is shown that the bug doesn't depend on the applet at all.
