We've seen a couple of bugs where a redirection for a REST request has caused problems, typically by a proxy - eg, bug 1219219, bug 1261662. It would be useful for diagnostics if this redirect was logged - it already is by resource.js, just not rest.js. I'll attach a patch that logs the same thing resource.js already does.
