When I add LDAP directory for address book and Preferences window is open with preferences->mailnews->addressing, The new added directory should show up in the pref | addressing list. The same thing should happen with EditDirectories window and also with the account setting window

This bug has been fixed by the patches on bug 408613, bug 449260 and bug 451381.
