Attached is a screenshot from the folder listing of a Gmail account. The "Important" folder is bold, blue and has the icon indicating new unseen, unread messages, but the count of unread messages is zero. Clicking on this folder, a message list loaded, and the newest message in the list flashed briefly as unread before that changed automatically (without requiring that message to be displayed). This was a message I'd read yesterday by clicking Inbox. Had I not been paying close attention, I'd have missed that, and confused wondering what TB was referring to. This is likely easiest to reproduce with Gmail because of the strange way it lists the same message under multiple folders, but the issue may be wider.
Summary: Folder inaccurately indicates new unseen unread messages → Folder color inaccurately indicates new unseen unread messages
The granddaddy of these, which matches, is bug 594757. If that doesn't fix this then we can reopen this bug.
