Steps to reproduce:
1. Use the modern skin. (I haven't tested this bug with classic.)
2. Maximize the mail window.
3. Select a message in your "Bug Mail" folder that you want to file to a
subfolder of "Local Folders".
4. If necessary, scroll down in the folder pane so "Local Folders" is visible
but not expanded.
5. Try to expand "Local Folders" by clicking the twisty.

Result: If you're like me, you pushed the cursor to the left edge of the screen
and then came back a few pixels (bug 66632) to click on the twisty. If you're
unlucky enough to click in the 2-pixel space between the edge of the folder pane
and the twisty, "Local Folders" is now selected but not expanded, and you've
lost your place in the "Bug Spam" folder.

Suggested solution: consider a two-pixel space to the left of the twisty to be
part of the twisty. This would also slightly increase the target area for
twisties on non-root folders, making them easier to click as well.

Yes, this is true in the Classic theme as well. And not only when the window is
maximized. On the other hand, if you have a subfolder, the twisty on its parent
folder is indented quite a ways from the edge of the window -- should that also
extend the "twisty activation zone" to the left margin?

Thunderbird - similar behavior on left and right with regard to twisty.
- On right side open/close is activated up to extreme edge of the account icon.
- On left there is "dead space" for the twisty, however row does get _selected_.

in current SM trunk it only happens when maximized afaict.
but, the modern theme's icon is not a triangle, so can't make a good comparison with SM 1.1.4

is there perhaps a object in the row to the left of the twisty that is causing the "margin" and this behavior?
is this a windows-only phenomenon?

A fix to this is really, really needed. I mis-click and miss the twisty many times a day, and with hundreds of folders and subfolders, this makes moving email messages around extremely inefficient.
