¡Hola!
Thanks for reporting this.
I can reproduce this on Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0 ID:20160705030222 CSet: c9a70b64f2faa264296f0cc90d68a2ee2bac6ac5
I see the below in "Browser Console" and wonder if it is related:
A promise chain failed to handle a rejection. Did you forget to '.catch', or did you forget to 'return'?

Upon restoring and then maximizing the window there's white space on both left and right borders of about:newtab (please see 1284043-restored-window.png) as opposed to a non restored about:newtab (please see 1284043-maximized-window.png)
¡Gracias!

I can't reproduce it, I'm using FF47 32 bits with resolution at 125% in Win 7.
Is it specific to the 64 bits version?

This is an obsolete bug and nothing similar can be reproduced on Nightly 91.0a1
20210625093436 and current version of Topsites with the given steps.
