Not strictly a blocker, but flake8 is our default linter in mozilla-central, and we should have this fixed before landing ftl in-tree.
Landed https://github.com/l20n/python-l20n/commit/0b88abbd918403350a26463940fb6bc6dc7e15e5 I didn't clear tools/ - I need to triage scripts there and remove most of them.
How about we just remove tools? If we come across a usecase and you remember that you fixed that in tools, they're still in version control history anyway?
+1 to removing now and bringing them back if they're needed.
