Splitting the original report into multiple parts for work to be done for each item requested to get Firefox to parity with Safari

We should add support for contextual menu: Substitutions
Type: defect → enhancement
Keywords: parity-safari

This is one of the most frustrating things about Firefox. I have several text replacements set up that sync between my Mac and iOS devices. Firefox is one of only Mac apps I use that doesn't recognize them.

Severity: normal → S3

I love Firefox and really want to keep supporting an independent browser but I don't understand why Apple's built-in text replacement doesn't work in Firefox, but works fine in Chrome and Safari. I'm sure there is a technical reason but for it still not to be implemented years after Apple released this functionality is quite disappointing. Typing this from Chrome where text-replacement works... begrudgingly.

Yep. I use two browsers at same time for delineation reasons at times. When I'm in Firefox this bug and a similar one logged here and the lack of support for Apple's "right click" spelling fixes that all text handling macOS seem to use forces me to switch to using another Browser. which is sad because I want to support Firefox but I'm rudely shoved out of it because it can't support my decades long productivity hacks on the 'daily'.
