User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 Build ID: 20160604131506 Steps to reproduce: navigate to any url ending in .mid or .midi e.g., http://sniff.numachi.com/midi/ABEGGIN.midi I followed the steps here to reactivate an old QuickTime plugin from my 10.6 installation https://discussions.apple.com/message/23948316#23948316 (and I attached the modified plugin and preferences file I used in the appropriate folders in my home directory so you can test) I set Firefox preferences to handle audio/midi and audio/mid MIME types with the old plug-in With the "old" plug-in in my ~/library/internet plugins folder, embedded midi files play in Safari Actual results: but in Firefox, all I get is a blank page even though the plug-in icon appears to the left of the url bar and says the quicktime plugin is active. Expected results: quicktime midi player should appear

I don't know whether this is a change in the new version of MacOS. But since we will be removing NPAPI support entirely in January, and we don't control the QuickTime plugin development cycle, this is not going to be a priority for the Mozilla project. I will take a suitably low-risk patch, but otherwise QuickTime not working is an acceptable outcome.
