Noticed several command queue alerts in #buildduty during the weekend, suggesting  dead jobs on several masters. Looking at the logs revealed that many of them encountered decoding issues (see attachments).

This is due to the hg comment of:

Probably we should catch this exception and try to convert, assuming the encoding of the string...
