User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0 Build ID: 20160604131506 Steps to reproduce: Using Firefox on a regular basis, no out of the ordinary activity, regular browsing. Actual results: A while back I noticed that bookmarks list contains thousands of duplicate entries. About 3 entries keep getting added to the list repeatedly. I fixed the problem by reinstalling but today I noticed the same thing occurred again. Using latest version (47) on two computers with the sync turned on. Addons currently installed are AdBlock Plus, Speed Dial and UnMHT. None of these doesn't have any logical connections to the bookmarking mechanism. Expected results: Bookmarks should contain only entries manually added
Component: Untriaged → Bookmarks & History
Is it present with Sync turned off?
Ok, so I had to verify that the bookmarks are indeed still piling up. With the sync left ON, at the day of submitting this I have removed ~12 000 bookmarks from the list. Next day, I had new 9899 entries waiting. Then I turned the sync OFF, and it seems after a day that the bookmarks are as I left them, no new entries. So it seems turning sync off fixes it. I'm guessing that the logic may be that the, once added, bookmarks were automatically downloaded to my machine. And the removal of bookmarks only had a local effect, with them still being in the cloud..? Does that make sense?

Summary: Firefox keeps flooding bookmarks with duplicate entries → Firefox keeps flooding bookmarks with duplicate entries with Sync turned on
Can you tell me in how many devices have you signed in with the firefox (sync) account ? are all of them (untrusted) add-on free ?
It would be very helpful if you could attach some "success" logs for a Sync via the instructions at http://bit.ly/q6fBL1 - that might give us some idea of what is going wrong.
