During CHE project design phase, UX found below 4 default web services/protocols in FFX (zh-tw) a. irc/ Mibbit b. ircs/ Mibbit c. mailto/ Gmail, Yahoo mail d. webcal/ 30boxes 1. Per offline check, this seems unrelated to business/monetization, some history[1][2] 2. There are more than those 4, and differs per languages[3] 3. Some services might be broken, for example[4] 4. Telemetry could be a way to verify the current usage of them, but no existing one for this at the moment 5. Peter. D from PM is planning on writing a product requirements document for our UITelemetry needs. This should be part of that scope. Temp conclusion: figure out if these 3rd party web services are actually invoked and for what content types before revamping anything. [1]https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435687 was Mibbit [2]https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413630 was 30 boxes.
