Steps to reproduce:

Even though search provider in "preferences-browser-internet search" is set to Google DuckDuckGo is always used both for context menu search (select some text in a page and right-click - there is "Search with DuckDuckGo" in the context menu and DuckDuckGo will be used if you click on it) and navigation bar search (type something into the address and press the "Search" button) in 2.45 for win32 taken from here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/nightly/2016/07/2016-07-14-19-08-30-comm-beta/ . Tried rolling back to 2.38 - changing search engine works there, but still not perfect - changes are applied only after the Seamonkey is restarted, should be immediate.
This one probably is a DUP of "Bug 1265881 - Location Bar Internet Search does not respect ˋEdit → Preferences → Browser → Internet Searchˊ "
