Details

I often come across a video, on Airmo OR YouTube, that I want to share with a specific user. I never really "trust" the "Share on Facebook/Twitter" widgets. Instead, I opt for the plain permalink URL which I then copy and do whatever I want with it (email, text message, facebook wall post, irc etc...). In Air Mozilla we're all friends. There are extremely few strangers in there. Some people I've never even talked to but if they're the database, they're a Mozillian, like me. What I would like to do is to recommend a video with a specific user, by email. A widget like that could do autocomplete on known users in the database. So, if I start typing "rmi" it could autocomplete to rmilewski@mozilla.com. I should also be able to type a message or reason. E.g. "I think you'd appreciate this video. This was that project by that intern we chatted about last week." Two things should happen: 1) An email notification should go out the person/people you typed in. 2) If the email is a known email in our user database, we should save that recommendation and when that user returns it would be a big loud message at the top. E.g. "pbengtsson@mozilla.com recommends that you check out _this video_"
What do you think Richard? High value?

Could we make this work on irc instead of email. (I'm constantly digging out from a flood of emails so it's sometimes a day or two before i see something). irc also reaches some people outside mozilla.

Yeah. I think we might be able to pick that up from their Mozillians profile.

Platform deprecated.
