1289389 - Reclaim org.mozilla.fennec on Google Play

In one of the bugs I read that org.mozilla.fennec is already taken because an APK with that package name has already been uploaded; but not from the Mozilla account.

Google Play allows to transfer apps from one account to another:
https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/6230247?hl=en

If we have access to the account owning org.mozilla.fennec then we can transfer ownership to Mozilla's actual account.

@sylvestre: I can't find the bug/mail but I think I read somewhere that you uploaded a Nightly to some other account to test something (or you know who?). Do you know which account and if we can transfer ownership back to Mozilla?

I don't know about nightly, sorry...

Oh, I found the reference: bug 1241114 comment 20. I thought that meant that you have uploaded org.mozilla.fennec / Nightly somewhere.

I found some history in bug 809700. Seems like the package id is gone and for a play store release we would have to build it with a different package id (org.mozilla.nightly?)

Sadly, no :(  Per https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=809700#c19, org.mozilla.fennec is definitely out.  In any case, org.mozilla.nightly is probably good.  Or even org.mozilla.firefox_nightly and org.mozilla.firefox_aurora.

Thanks! I'll close this and open a new bug for looking into building Nightly with a different package id.
