Continuing from bug 1288416#c11, indexing time has massively spiked across most trees. build-central used to take ~45m and now takes ~16hr, if it finishes at all. 

#static scrollback indicates that it's likely in the new descriptor. did a test build-central index with it disabled and it and it finished in normal time. going to globally disable it to get builds back on track.
Thanks for reporting the bug, the cause was the combination of long lines in some files and a lazy regular expression.
