STR: 1. Have an Alaska Airlines flight. 2. Try to print your boarding pass through their website. Or, just print-preview the page where they show you a miniature version of your boarding pass. (Produces the same results) In print-preview, be sure "shrink to fit" is selected. ACTUAL RESULTS: Despite "shrink to fit" being selected, the boarding pass (and in particular, the all-important barcode!) protrudes off the right side of the paper. EXPECTED RESULTS: Boarding pass (and page content in general) should shrink to fit page-width.
I'm using Nightly 51.0a1 (2016-08-03)

This report would definitely require a reduced test in order to confirm this bug and eventually improve Firefox print capabilities or related spec compliance. Is it possible to examine a boarding pass sample page without actually reserving a flight? If we could reach website developers of https://www.alaskaair.com/ and get their assistance, then we could get a sample of their boarding pass webpage code. How is the barcode generated? Is it an image or is it generated by a custom font?
Web check-in https://webselfservice.alaskaair.com/checkinweb/default.aspx "(...) Check in and print your boarding pass (...)" Just as I thought. There are 4 external style sheets, a lot of CSS code (huge amounts of inline style, over-declared, over-defined, over-qualified elements and rules), a lot of javascript in that page. There are browser specific style sheets for media print, for IE8, IE9, IE10 and even for Firefox, it seems: <link href='images/printstyles.css' type='text/css' rel='stylesheet' media='print'/> https://webselfservice.alaskaair.com/checkinweb/images/printstyles.css <link href='images/styles-FireFox.css' type='text/css' rel='stylesheet'/> https://webselfservice.alaskaair.com/checkinweb/images/styles-FireFox.css
Severity: normal → S3

(Sorry for the much-delayed reply.)

It's not publicly visible, but I did actually save an unminimized copy of my testcase and included it as a private attachment here.

Using that testcase (visible to me but still probably not broadly visible), I can still reproduce this in Nightly 2016-08-03 (the build that I used in comment 1), but not in current Nightly. It seems this was fixed at some point.

Using mozregression --find-fix, the fix range is:
https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=2785aaf276ba29fb2e1f5607d90d441fee42efb4&tochange=da22155a2dc30dafc93d70f38f6bb8a49248c80f

In that range, the only commit to mention "print" is for bug 1321803, which sounds similar to this bug. In the testcase here, there is content that's too-large-to-fit, and there's overflow:auto on the body that gets propagated to the viewport, both of which are similar to the setup in bug 1321803.

So: I'm going to assume this was fixed by bug 1321803. Duping.
