[12:06] <marcoagpinto> wsmwk: Wayne, when someone looks for "British speller" from inside TB and click in the link, FF opens the page and there is a red sign saying my speller is only compatible with "TB 2 to 51"
[12:07] <marcoagpinto> I received an e-mail of a guy and I tested it myself
For me it opens in TB itself and says it's compatible without the red sign. This behavior is determined by the pref network.protocol-handler.expose.https: true means display in TB, false in FX.

You see the red sign in Firefox because the TB version information is shown, and you cannot install it directly from Firefox in Thunderbird. You must download it in Firefox and then install it in Thunderbird.

When you change the URL and substitute thunderbird with firefox, you don't get the red sign and you can install the dictionary to firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/british-english-dictionary-2/

It used to be possible to switch applications for an add-on in amo, but it looks like that isn't possible anymore. If that's what you want, you'll need to file a bug on github: https://github.com/mozilla/addons-server

[17:06] <aceman> what is wrong with the "works with TB 2-51" message?
[17:06] <marcoagpinto> well,
[17:06] <marcoagpinto> it the past, when we clicked in an add-on link from inside TB it would open the page inside TB
[17:06] <marcoagpinto> now it opens with FF
[17:06] <marcoagpinto> and it shows a red sign
[17:06] <marcoagpinto> :)
[17:07] <marcoagpinto> because it can't be installed on TB from the FF page
Summary: "Works with TB 2.0 - 51.0" → Searching an add-on from inside TB opens the FF version of the add-on page on AMO

Dunno, if I go to the 'Get addons" pane in addon manager, click e.g. the "mail redirect" addon, it opens its page inside TB and everything seems fine, with "add to Thunderbird" button green.

You say it opens a FF window/tab with the addon page?
