Something in the past week has prevented me from being able to push the enter key on the URL bar. If I type in an address in the URL bar, I cannot push enter to go to the URL or push the arrow to go to the URL either.

STR:
1) enter a URL in the URL bar
2) try to push enter
3) nothing happens

This happened between July 31 - August 5th. If I create a clean profile, everything works, but I still have the old profile, although I'm not sure how to get what preferences might have changed w/o being able to go to about:support.

Gregg, apologies if you're not the right person to ask about this, but I think you work on Test Pilot? Do you know how we can go about fixing the universal search test pilot add-on?

Jared also said he is going to take care of this: https://github.com/mozilla/universal-search/issues/286#issuecomment-237900812

Yup, I'm aware of Universal Search causing this bug on Nightly. Universal Search tracks bugs on Github[1], so feel free to close this out.

The short-term fix is to disable the Universal Search add-on.

I hope to dig into the bug this week; watch [1] for updates.

Feel free to close, as this isn't a regression in Nightly, but an incompatibility with an add-on.

Thanks Jared. In the meantime though, people's Nightlies are pretty broken by this. Is there any way to remotely disable or expire the add-on? I don't know how Test Pilot works.
Resolving per comment 8. We discussed this in the search team meeting today and Jared will work on a fix with Drew's help. Follow the github issue in comment 8 if you want to know more.
