Using a build i just finished building (2002030622).
In one case saving a file resulted in a completed dialog but the progress bar
was not filled in and the title was not updated with "100%" done but the
remaining time said "Download complete" and the button said "Close".

I had problems reproducing this ... I think it has to be a really small file and
you have to save just in time.
I hope someody who has this problem or somebody who can somehow reproduce it can
help.
Are you using a firewall? This looks a lot like bug 98394...
Yeah. I'm behind a masq firewall.
I actually know about that other bug and had experienced it months before.

This is different in that mozilla already knows that the download is complete
which can be seen by the fact that the estimated time left is "Download
Complete" and all the buttons appear like after a download is done.

Hopefully I will be able to come up with a way to reproduce it.
Confirming.

I've been able to do this by playing games with the cache, as reported in bug
132280. While not 100%, I've done this with similar steps to the ones I listed
in that bug.

This has been going on a long time. Usually progress is indicated, but
sometimes not. Easier to reproduce by 'save page as' rather than downloading a
file. Since I always use WGET to download binaries, 'save page as' is how I
always encounter it.
Please change OS to 'all' based upon OS/2 screenshot.

This happens to me all the time--- it's a real pain because I sit and wait for
the progress bar to fill up, wondering why the download isn't progressing...

A reliable way to reproduce this (for me) is to go to www.google.com, and
make sure everything loads up. Then, right click the google image and
save image as... The result is a download dialog which claims to be
complete, even though the progress bar is empty.

Major usability nuisance. I'll attach a screen shot. Seen this on Solaris
and WinXP (Currently using 2002041903).

I see this regularly at the Calvin & Hobbes site when I right-click to save an
image. It doesn't occur every time, but often - just now on
http://www.ucomics.com/calvinandhobbes/viewch.cfm?uc_full_date=19910605&uc_comic=ch&uc_daction=X

I'm using Moz 1.0 (release version) on Win2000, but saw this at least since rc1,
perhaps earlier. I'm not sure I've seen it on Linux, but I don't visit the C & H
site from Linux ...

One way to reproduce this is to select some file for downloading -- say I am at
http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/lshort/, I download lshort.pdf and when the
dialog asks me "save or open with xpdf" I just sit and wait while it fetches the
file in the background. Then I click "save file to disk" once it is all done.
This works for me every time.
I'm not 100% certain that this is the same bug as what I get here on a Win2K box
using the 1.3a release but what I sometimes get is this: The download starts but
unless I move my mouse around INSIDE the download manager window the progress
bar is not updated.

This is not reproducible, sometimes it happens sometimes not. At first I thought
it was a bug relating to the Sky Pilot theme as I have had one or two glitches
with installing that this time, but I just tried a vanila nightly for the hell
of it and again it randomly did it.

I've used Moz since 1.1b and not seen this before. First time I saw it was with
1.2a when I mentioned it in a newsgroup but got no reply so thought it was just
my machine. Maybe not....

This seems to be a dupe of mac bug 78604
I just managed to reproduce this on Linux with FireBird build 20030817. I'm
currently able to reproduce it every time by visiting:

    http://www.untroubled.org/ucspi-proxy/

, clicking on ucspi-proxy-0.95.tar.gz, and saving it somewhere.
Here's a screenshot of this bug on Linux FireBird 20030817.

I would like to confirm that similar problems are seen with "Mozilla 1.0.2
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.2) Gecko/20030716" as distributed
with Red Hat Linux 8.0 and updated by Red Hat's up2date since then. That is,
when you select File->Save Page As, you frequently get "Status: Download
complete" but have the progress bar be empty (indicating 0%) completing.

This problem seems to happen most commonly with File->Save Page As, when the
download completes quickly.

An example that seems to work reliably for me is:

1. Load the page "http://rinkworks.com/stupid/".

2. Select File->Save Page As.

3. Specify location to place the file.

4. When the download completes, examine the download dialog box. (You need to
have the option "Keep this window open after the download completes" set.) It
will show "Status: Download complete" but the Progress bar will indicate 0%
completion (be white). The Progress bar should indicate 100% completion (be grey).

I am going to attach a screen image of this bug.

Note that bugs 129409, 135982, and 167044 appear to be the same problem.

I'm glad to see this posted and so much discussion on the bug. I've had a few
seconds lost here and there because of it, so I searched for it. I don't quite
understand the bugzilla process here, but in order for it to get fixed do we
need more votes for this bug? It would help if some of the people who post
comments vote for the bug, if my thinking is along the right lines.
Bug 135982 and bug 167044 are definitely dupes of this one.

Summary: download progress bar does not fill when download quickly complete → download progress bar does not fill when download quickly complete (stays at 0%)

Is anyone still seeing this bug? While the reverse bug (bug 168846) still exists, I thought this one was fixed long ago...
