We recently did some A/B tests on the forest themed /new download page to see how well an animated version of the page performed. After two consecutive tests we determined that the animated version of the page converted between 0.7% and 1.2% lower than the static version of the page in terms of downloads, so we will not be moving forward with the animation.
This bug is to tidy up the animation / testing code which is no longer needed.
