129616 - Ctrl+2 in mail should open a new mail window

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Mozmail.
2. Start reading mail in the East Dorm Schmack folder, which is more than a
screenful below the inbox in the folder pane.
3. Realize you need to read something in your inbox.
4. Press Ctrl+2.

Result: nothing happens
Expected: a new mail window should open at the inbox, as if I had pressed Ctrl+2
in the browser while no mail windows were open.

5. Wonder how you can read the inbox message without losing your place in the
Schmack thread.

I remember we discussed it, can't find a bug.
Double-click on your active folder. It will bring another instance of Mail,
where you can select Inbox. Come back to your original Mail instance: your
previously selected folder/message is there.

This is still occuring under windows XP and the Seamonkey 1.8a5

This is inconsistent menu functionality

When you have the Navigator open (one window) then the first time that you press
ctrl-1 you get another windows (new).  Subsequent presses of ctrl-1 let you
toggle between the two windows

When you have Mail open (one window) ctrl-2 does nothing.

When you have Navigator open, ctrl-2 switches you to the mail windows.

I would expect that the fix for this is to change the mail (ctrl-2)
functionality to mirror that of the navigator (ctrl-1) functionality.

this STM wontfix given we have "open new window" on context menu and comment 2. Besides, isn't jesse no longer a suite user?

IMO, both the Ctrl-1 and Ctrl-2 behaviour should be the same - but OTOH the Ctrl-1 behaviour isn't very logically either: Ctrl-1 opens up to two navigator windows and then cycles between them - whatever logic that is, it's beyond me.

(ignoring inconsistency elsewhere for the moment)

Neil, un-wontfix if you disagree that ctrl-2 should cycle through the message windows (I don't know if there is a bug for that), and should instead open a new message window.
