Okay so the summary (mozilla ate my newsgroups...) is bad... and this bug report
doesn’t tell much... but then it does and should really be few bug reports. With
that said, I would like to go on record and make this report.
Update Mozilla from 20020304 to mozilla 20020308 on OS X 10.1.3. After I quit
Mozilla and copied the Mozilla folder from the disk image to my Applications
folder I launched Mozilla to check the news groups I subscribe to... first thing
I noticed is that the drop down triangle was missing... along with the account
name. I click on the account settings and see the account name does exist in the
prefs as does the server info... and the path to my sig file (however its
uncheck... checking it and closing the prefs does noting since it reverts back
to being unchecked)
Next, I try to subscribe to my news groups again, the drop down sheets dialog
comes up but I cannot refresh the empty list of newsgroups nor can I press ok
(shouldn't it be okay) or cancel to dismiss the dialog.
I have quit mozilla and restarted a few times... the problems always exist.

Seems like you are hitting this bug
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12911
If you create a new profile, does this still happen?
This was a single instance.... only my master newsgroup account info was
changd... so I just ended up removing the account and creating a new one. This
hasn't happened since.
