Details

Currently you can open more than one tab for the same event or task.  It would be better to switch to an already open tab if it exists.

I recall reading another recent bug about this but I am not sure which one that is. If someone reading this remembers please mark as duplicate.

This is not a duplicate. The other bug is for window mode only, while this is for tab mode only.
