User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 Build ID: 20160725105554 Steps to reproduce: When typing into the "Quick Filter" field (using the name "Quick Filter" as defined in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/quick-filter-toolbar ), there used to be a slight delay so that the search wouldn't start immediately in the situation where a user is typing in a word. I don't know when the change occurred, but now, when I type a word into the "Quick Filter" field, it starts searching very quickly after character is entered. This causes two problems: 1) A search is kicked off before the users is done typing 2) The next few key presses don't echo immediately. I have some fairly large folders, but I'm only using the quick filter to search on "Sender", "Recipients", & "Subject". Various version info for my client: Version 45.2.0 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/45.2.0 Application Build ID 20160630070546 Actual results: 1) A search is kicked off before the users is done typing 2) The next few key presses don't echo immediately. Expected results: There should be a slightly longer delay before the search starts after each key press (like it used to be)
I'm not sure, but I wonder if these other bugs are related: Bug 1284753 - Quick filter UI is unresponsive after a quick search triggers Bug 467128 - Is set to "Search for text when I start typing"; but when I start typing, first several letters do not appear in search box
OS: Unspecified → Windows 7
