User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0 Build ID: 20160817112116 Steps to reproduce: Right click on Firefox Dock ICON (Launcher in OsX), the "New Window" no longer appears. As typical Firefox Developer's are on a binge to remove everything that was ever good in Firefox. This is just one more example in a long history of such foul play. Actual results: It's not there anymore ...(what a shame, I only used that about couple 100 times a day). Expected results: ;-) The Firefox development team needs to go see their psychiatrist so they can figure out why they would rather destroy good functionality than be creative and actually "add" new functionality. It seems that since they don't "Know" how to program for creativity, they decided to busily learn how to delete code and functionality.

Looks like the "New Window" selection is correctly appearing for me when I right click on the "FirefoxDeveloperEdition" icon under the OSX dock using the latest version of fx dev [1]. I also checked the following OSX versions and it seems to be working fine as well: * macOS 10.11.6 x64 - PASSED * macOS 10.11.5 x64 - PASSED * macOS 10.9.5 x64 - PASSED I'm pretty certain we didn't remove that functionality from fx. Perhaps you're running an add-on of some type that's causing issues? Are you still seeing the issue if you run fx under Safe Mode [2]. Does re-installing fix the issue? (make sure you backup your profile) [1] Build Used: * fx50.0a2, buildId: 20160826004001, changeset: 21fd3ea62d8c ** https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/2016/08/2016-08-26-00-40-01-mozilla-aurora/ [2] https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

This menu is still there on current trunk as well. Steven, is it possible that you have two Firefox icons displayed in the dock, but only one is active and clicking the other one just focuses the active one (i.e. doesn't start a new instance of Firefox)? Can you restart Firefox and see if the problem disappears? Thanks.

Hi, I think this bug is related to a previous one : https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1294933 I've experienced the same problem after my update to FF 48.x The Safe Mode makes things work correctly again so it may come from an addon My activated plugin list: Easy Copy Modify Headers Print Edit Saved Password Editor Scrapbook X Tab Mix Plus The desactivated list is quite longer but i'm not sure it will help

FF 54.0.1 (64-bit) MacOS 10.12.6 Click on Firefox Dock Icon (Launcher), the "New Window" and "New Private Window" item randomly stop appearing, along with the grey divider line defining this 2-command menu section. Can't correlate disappearance with anything. Apparently, once disappeared, the items never spontaneously reappear. After FF quit and re-launch, this dock menu section is restored Number of open windows does not seem to have an effect. Only one plug-in: uBlock Origin 1.13.8. Disabling this does not seem to have any effect.
I'm also still seeing this, on 55.0b10. I still can't replicate it well, but was able to see the behavior when I only had one plugin installed (1Password).

Happens to me every day. After some time the menu entries vanish and never appear again, until I close and reopen firefox :-(

Is this now being dealt with under bug 1294933, mentioned in comment 3 above? I'm not sure what was signified by this bug's change to RESOLVED INCOMPLETE.

Still seeing this under MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra), Firefox v64.0 (64-bit). The workaround I've found is to exit firefox, remove the Firefox icon from the Dock and re-add it to the dock, launch and then the "new window" etc. in the right click context meby re-appear. It seems like it has something to do with keeping the firefox icon in the dock. Removing it from the Dock and running it fresh from the Applications folder I don't seem to have this issue.

According to bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1294933#c19 it appears to be related to showing the "About Firefox" menu. I'd refer to that bug number moving forward.
