User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 Build ID: 20160725105554 Steps to reproduce: switching between loaded tabs on many site or in many situation since the last 2 to 5 versions of firefox Actual results: strange Performance lack when switching between loaded tabs. The switch between the tabs lastet about 10 seconds, whereas there should be nothing to do. Expected results: comparing the behaviour to chrome the change between the same sites doesn't take any time.
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:51.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/51.0 I have tested your issue on latest Firefox release (v48.0) and latest Nightly (Build ID: 20160831030224) and could not reproduce it. I have opened 22 tabs with various websites and switch between them using the mouse or Ctrl+Tab keyboard buttons. There were no strange performance issues and I didn't encounter the case where I had to wait 10 seconds or over 10 seconds for the tab to load. Is this still reproducible on your end? If yes, can you please retest this using latest FF release and latest Nightly build (https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and report back the results ? When doing this, please use a new clean Firefox profile, maybe even safe mode, to eliminate custom settings as a possible cause (https://goo.gl/PNe90E).

I'm now using Firefox ESR Version 45.4.0. The strange behaviour isn't reproducable any more. Thank you for your serious efforts. It may be possible that my antivirus plugin was responsible for this strange delay.
