I have moved the B2G emulator page to the archive, but for the others, I want to ask my colleague Will to see what he thinks — the others are under the Tools domain, which he controls, so it would be rude to just go an do it without asking.

Will, do you think these pages/sections can be archived safely:

WebIDE https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/WebIDE
Firefox OS Simulator https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Firefox_OS_Simulator

?

I think the answer is probably yes, although I am intrigued that WebIDE still seems to be available inside Fx. Is it going to be repurposed at some point? I can still see it having uses outside of FxOS.

Firefox OS Simulator is an add-on https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Firefox_OS_Simulator No one is using it now as the architecture has changed. It is smart phone specific thing unlike WebIDE. Archiving it doesn't affect anything.

I think we should archive this:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Firefox_OS_Simulator

I think we should update this:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/WebIDE
to remove mentions of the FxOS Simulator. WebIDE is not just for Firefox OS, it's used to connect to other remote targets too.

Pinging :jryans though, too, to see what he thinks.

Will's plan makes sense to me. WebIDE has lot less of a purpose now that Firefox OS has gone away, but it's still used for various other remote targets.

The eventual goal is that about:debugging will learn how to connect to remote devices and we would remove WebIDE at that point.

I've archived the former, and removed it form the Developer Tools side menu. However, I've not yet touched the WebIDE pages — there are loads of mentions of Firefox OS, not only the simulator but also connecting to real devices over USB or Wifi, etc.

Is none of this going to be made compatible with the B2G OS project? I just wanted to check, before I started stripping content out ;-)
