Can we create a empty thunderbird app without any email features, that runs only the lightning extension? It can be our new sunbird!!!

And runs only the lightning extension. Actual results: Sunbird is dead. This is a new & easy way to recreate sunbird with minimal coding. A standalone calendar app. Expected results: This should happen!!! :)
This does come up once in a while. I'm pretty sure this was requested in another bug in the past few months. I no longer remember the bug number. Calendar exists only as an extension to Thunderbird. And Thunderbird isn't going to supply a "no mail" version of itself.
This is nothing Thunderbird or Calendar project themselves will provide or even work on in a foreseeable future. There exists Lightbird, which is aiming to provide what you are looking for. Checkout on AMO or Google for it.
