I'm working on a in-tree IPC document which will cover:

* IPDL
* glue/utilities
* chromium/base
** processes and threads

Many chapters of IPDL doc will be copied from https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/IPDL/Tutorial but rearranged and updated.

The doc will live on https://gecko.readthedocs.io but we should explore the possibility to sync the doc back to MDN.
After reading bug 877197 and its dependencies, I'm not so sure if I should just update the docs on MDN. I still think the docs should live and update with the code but the development of sync-readthedocs-to-MDN seems stalled.

I'm not sure what "sync-readthedocs-to-MDN" means, but I encourage you to go ahead with in-tree docs for code-level documentation, and we'll point old MDN pages at readthedocs.
