Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/48.0 Build ID: 20160823121617 Steps to reproduce: 1. Navigate to https://m.washingtonpost.com 2. Select Menu -> Page -> Add to Home Screen Note, the same sequence did work for http://www.philly.com. Therefore, there may be something site specific that triggers the crash. Actual results: Firefox crashes. The crash report dialog opens. I submitted a crash report. Expected results: An icon should have been added to the Android Home Screen for the site.
Note that a feasible work-around is to make use of the Firefox Bookmarks for organizing links to web sites. I would prefer higher reliability over the "Add to Home Screen" functionality. A candidate resolution would be to eliminate the "Add to Home Screen" function and associated code from Firefox as this would reduce the code base needing maintenance.
Please visit about:crashes and copy and paste the url of the crash report into this bug.
Thank you for the report and the steps to reproduce. This will be fixed in Firefox 49 which will be released next Tuesday (Sept-20). If you want to try for yourself you can install Firefox Beta from the Play store.
